These simple steps show how to add an Synology calendar on Windows.

How to add Synology calendar on Windows

  1. Before you begin

    Before you begin please check if your Synology NAS is configured properly.

    • Please make sure the Synology Calendar package is installed on your NAS device. You can see its features here.
    • Please make sure your Synology NAS has a valid HTTPS certificate, for more information see Synology support. Alternative options are to disable certificate checking in OneCalendar (not recommended) or use HTTP (not recommended).
    • If you want to access the Synology NAS from the internet please make sure the ports are accessible from the internet (default is 5001 for HTTPS or 5000 for HTTP).
    • You can check if HTTPS and ports have been configured properly by accessing it throught the browser https://<hostname>:5001/?launchApp=SYNO.Cal.Application
  2. Install OneCalendar

    Download OneCalendar from the store and install it on your device.

  3. Goto OneCalendar Menu

    Select the "settings" menu icon on the bottom right.

  4. Select Accounts overview

    Select the option "Accounts" in the menu.

  5. Select Add account

    Click on the "+" sign to add a new account.

  6. Select Account type

    Click on the "Synology" account type.

  7. Enter credentials

    • The username needs to be filled with your Synology username
    • For server you can just enter the servername. It will automatically try to resolve your settings using HTTPS. If this doesn't work you can find the full server URL as described in the next step.
  8. Determine CalDAV URL

    • On the right panel of your Synology Calendar, click on the calendar you want to sync with your CalDAV client, click the down arrow, and select CalDAV Account.
    • You will see the CalDAV URLs for macOS / iOS and Thunderbird. Copy the macOS / iOS URL by clicking the clipboard icon, and use this in the server field.
